“Anything that comes fast and easy… will leave you the same way.”
Recently I have encountered roadblock after roadblock.
It’s so easy to believe the voice inside my head that says, “Maybe it’s not meant to be.” I mean, can’t argue with that!
But at the very same moment I was sitting in this thought, a dear friend called me up out of the blue. I think it was divine intervention because without knowing the thought I was wrestling with she said:
“When things get hard and you experience this much resistance, it’s easy to believe it’s not meant to be. But that’s exactly what the enemy wants you to think. Every stumbling block is meant to hold you back from finishing what God has put on your heart, but you need to see it through.”
I so needed to hear that. It strengthened my heart just in time… for more resistance. Even more things started going wrong and breaking that nobody could understand how or why. But I knew exactly why.
God’s work is a threat to the devil’s schemes.
Did I still get upset, yes! I cried and everything! But did I give up? HELL NO. The mere fact that the enemy would try so hard to derail what God wants to do, fuels me to keep going.
I may feel like I’m in the fire, but I’m not alone… And neither are you.
Remember that when you invite God into your plans, He will stand with you and lead you through the flames. But he can’t do His part if you don’t do yours.
Be encouraged that the harder “it” is to overcome, the greater the purpose in it. You may not be able to see the full effect of your persistence now, or ever, but the rippling result is bigger than anything we can do on our own.
You need to see it through.
Life Practice
- If you are struggling, invite God into your battle through prayer.
- In the hard moments, remember Proverbs 16:3 which says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans.” He’s got you.
