This week marks the 4 year anniversary of @andythenewgirl *AND* my 40th birthday!
For those of you who’ve been around here from the beginning, you know why this week is so monumental for me, my loved ones, and my work.
But if you’re new here, I thought this would be the perfect time to give you the inside scoop too!
Behind everything you see here in my blog posts, in my emails, and in my social media, is a glimmer of my personal story and what inspired me to help others heal and grow… It’s kinda wild!
It all started when I woke up from an “impossible” brain surgery.
As a 31-year-old wife and mom of two, I was given a death sentence… inoperable brain cancer with a 1 and 3 chance of surviving 10 years, even with a full tumor resection.
So when I found a neurosurgeon who would take a chance on me, I knew the risks.
I knew there was the risk that I wouldn’t wake up from the surgery. And if I did wake up, there was a chance I would be a very different person than who I was before the surgery.
But I also knew that my God works outside of statistics and probabilities. With Him, everything is possible.
And He proved this by accomplishing BOTH scenarios. I DID wake up from that “impossible” surgery – and I WAS very different.
But not different in the ways you might think. When I woke up from surgery, I woke up to my life!
I had a sudden realization of the power every living moment holds. There is possibility in every moment!
I had an indescribable euphoric clarity, realizing that I had woken up on purpose, for purpose.
But you don’t have to face your mortality to realize your life is purposeful.
The truth is we both get to wake up to possibility and purpose every new day we get!
We are not damaged by our past or any circumstance, we are becoming New Again whenever we choose a perspective of growth.
We didn’t make it to today by accident.
God isn’t done… There is still more for you!
And it has become my personal mission to awaken women just like you to the endless possibilities in their own lives.
So cheers to a new day, friend! Let’s make the most of it.
